Nun's Body Shows Few Signs of Decay
by Carol Everett Adams
Nun’s body intact four years after death
draws people to Missouri monastery.

I saved up for a massage
in the self-care category,
budget pointing to a better day,
but got a case of second sight
on the way to bliss—
bought a Kindle light instead.
Now I shine like Lazarus stumbling out of a store.
Touch screen tucked in, muscles be damned,
I’m bent at a bad angle, braced,
reading away my vacation
while the devout plan my future,
lay hands on my sainthood.
